Jordan is a mainstreamed sophomore at Blaine High School, taking all honor level courses, currently holding down a 3.94 gpa. He particularly enjoys classes involving science, music, and government. His extracurricular activities include the Spanish club, pep band, student council, and the Science Olympiad, which went to State this year. In addition, he volunteers for the Link Crew, a mentoring organization for incoming freshmen.
Outside of school, as a member of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB), Jordan is active in the National Federation of the Blind of Minnesota (NFBMN) and serves as Secretary for the Minnesota Association of Blind Students (MnABS). The last two years he has also mentored young children at a Saturday School.
A frequent public speaker, Jordan has presented in Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois, Maryland, and Kentucky to elementary schools, parent/teacher workshops, and at other private and public events about blindness-related topics.
Last summer Jordan attended the “Rocket On!” science academy jointly sponsored by the NFB and NASA, for whom CaptionMax freqently describes educational programming. Jordan's team launched a 10 ½ foot-long rocket 6,888 ft. in the air.
