Kirsten grew up in southern Minnesota, attended college in northern Minnesota, and began working at CaptionMax in central Minnesota. Then one day her brain thawed enough for her to access the rational decision-making areas, and she moved to Phoenix.

She graduated from St. Cloud State University, where she acquired majors in English and history and a minor in German, which prepared her well for exactly one career: captioning History Channel shows about World War II, so it's very lucky that she found a job where she gets to do exactly that.

She enjoys traveling to a variety of places, and her favorite destinations are Badlands National Park and London. She also likes home-improvement projects, lolcats, and dessert.
