Susan Schneider, who founded WGBH subsidiary Caption Center’s Los Angeles Sales and Marketing office in 1986, left the venerable Boston-based non-profit institution after 20 years to serve as the Business Development Manager for CaptionMax, a full-service media accessibility company headquartered in Minneapolis, MN.
The Department of Education announced that CaptionMax was awarded two of the three grants available to increase multimedia accessibility in the classroom for individuals with disabilities. CaptionMax and the Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP), formerly the Captioned Media Program (CMP), administered by the National Association of the Deaf, announces a partnership to dramatically increase the availability of described and captioned DVDs and web videos for classroom use.
