Requirements for Encoding from Master Tapes
If we’re encoding the caption/subtitle file onto a master tape for you, you need to send us a copy of your master. The master tape must fulfill the following specifications:
Requirements for Proxy Content
If we’re not encoding a master for you, then please create a proxy from your master based on one of the following formats: DVD-R. MPEG file, or VHS.
A proxy enables you to send us a copy of your master in a quick and inexpensive manner. We recommend MPEG or DVD-R for the highest quality, security, and least expensive duplication and shipping.

Video files can be delivered in several ways:
- Uploaded to our FTP site. To set up an FTP account with CaptionMax, contact your project manager
- Downloaded from your ftp site
- Burned to disc
- Sent via Clipmail
A test is required before we can accept work this way.
