Troubleshooting Common Description Problems

Be sure the program is providing audio description. The program’s menu might identify the service as DVS®, DVI, or SAP.

Sometimes there is an “on” or “off” setting or options for Stereo, Surround Sound, Mono, or SAP. Activating anything but SAP (such as Surround Sound) may deactivate SAP.

If there is anything between the television signal and the TV, such as a cable box, VCR, or DVD player, check to make sure that SAP is on wherever available.
