Prophesying his destiny of being near money without having any, Jay Wyant was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He spent his formative years in Oklahoma, where he developed a deep love of football, a predilection for large belt buckles, and a mildly disturbing obsession with musical theatre. A child of the sixties, Jay was encouraged by his parents to take up a course of study that he loved. Had they known that what he loved was history, they would have encouraged him to study something that would result in a job.

Jay graduated with honors from Stanford University, and will tell anyone with a pulse that he was present at "The Play" (12th row, goal line) against Cal Berkeley. He is an enthusiastic repository of the English lexicon, and is single-handedly responsible for keeping the phrases "Been there, done that" and "You go, Girl!" in circulation.

Jay's hobbies include Ultimate Frisbee, running, and tap dancing. He has yet to screw up his relationship with his wife, but she does want to have a serious talk about that tap dancing thing.
