When something is wrong with the captions, what do I do?

First, perform a quick diagnosis. Without some basic information, service providers cannot determine the possible source of the problem and resulting solution:

  • check other channels, are they okay - if not, then
  • call a friend right then and ask them if they have the same problem. If so, then note the following:
  • the time
  • your time zone
  • program episode title if possible
  • method of distribution (how you get their signal - dish, cable, satellite, rabbit ears, etc.)
  • network program is on
  • local channel
  • problems occurring with the cc signal

Then if you have confirmed that the problem lies outside your system, contact the local service provider (Comcast, Time Warner, Dish, etc.) with ALL THE ABOVE INFORMATION. Then contact your local network that provides the show (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, A&E, etc.) Also please copy us via the "Contact Us" page to make sure we are aware of the issue.

If the problem persists, you can file a complaint with the FCC.
