This is a function of your television's decoder. Different decoder chips display the font differently, but all will display a fixed-width font that looks somewhat like Courier. Some televisions, such as those made by Sony, use a more Arial or Helvetica-type font. The font size is based on the television, as each each row is 1/15th of the total "safe title area."
